Celine Dion

Wanneer deze Frans-Canadese zangeres Celine Dion in 1988 namens Zwitserland het Eurovisie songfestival wint met ne partez pas sans moi, heeft zij al diverse Franstalige albums uitgebracht. Wanneer in 1990 het eerste Engelstalige album Unison uitkomt, breekt ze door in Amerika, mede dankzij het succes van de single where does my heart beat now. Ook haar volgende Engelstalige albums Celine Dion (1992) en The colour of my love (1993) zijn er succesvol, maar ook in Europa worden inmiddels veel albums verkocht. In 1995 volgt dan weer een Franstalige plaat (D'Eux) met hierop de grote hit pour que tu m'aimes encore. Op het vierde Engelstalige album Falling into you uit 1996 neemt ze enkele covers op; in 1997 gevolgd door Let's talk about love. Op dit album staan bijdragen van diverse grootheden, waaronder Barbra Streisand, met wie ze de single tell him naar de eerste plaats van de hitparade zingt. Een andere single van dit album, my heart will go on, wordt haar bestverkochte single aller tijden. In 1998 verschijnen er twee albums van de zangeres, S'il suffisait d'aimer en haar kerstalbum These are special times, met de hit i'm your angel (duet met R. Kelly). In 1999 verschijnt de single that's the way it is, opnieuw een mega-succes. Na een break van een aantal jaren verschijnen achtereenvolgens A new day has come (2002), One heart (2003), Miracle (2004), Taking chances (2007), loved me back to life (2013) met een cover van at seventeen van Janis Ian en enkele Franstalige albums. Op het album Ancora van il divo uit 2005 is Celine Dion te horen in het duet i believe in you.
